54. Pick Analysis. CB. LSU. Derek Stingley Jr.. 15. player. Scouting Report

With Ahmad Gardner’s emergence and Derek Stingley Jr. having trouble convincing the public that his drop in stats each season was a fluke, the Philadelphia Eagles could end up with a steal here. After trading away one of their first rounders, the Eagles are down to two picks in the first but getting Stingley takes away some of that sting in the short term.

What Stingley did during his freshman year was impressive. Unfortunately, those stats weren’t sustained. The good news is that the talent is still there. Having him on the same roster as Darius Slay would allow him to learn on the fly and hopefully recoup the talents we saw a few years ago.

*Detroit Lions received from New Orleans Saints for No. 2, send to Kansas City Chiefs with a mid-round pick for No. 29 and No. 30

WR. Alabama. Jameson Williams. 16. 124. Scouting Report. player. Pick Analysis

After trading Tyreek Hill away to the Miami Dolphins, the Kansas City Chiefs pair the first of many picks from the deal with their own first rounder to go up and get the replacement for Hill in this 2022 NFL Mock Draft. As for the Detroit Lions, they move back a second time, now holding four first round picks, including three spanning from 29 to 32.

The downside for Jameson Williams is obviously the injury. He’s going to miss at least majority of the 2022 season, if not the entire season, and it’s still unknown what type of player will return. However, his skill set is hard to ignore.

Kansas City had to part ways with Hill for cap reasons. Adding Williams will replace Hill at a cheaper cap hit and with one season, at most, of a hiatus without that level of talent.
