10. Pick Analysis. Offensive Tackle. 3. player. Scouting Report. Alabama. Evan Neal

Like the Detroit Lions, and really every other team in this 2022 NFL Mock Draft, the Houston Texans could really go in any direction. They could improve at just about every position on their football team, so nothing is off the table for general manager Nick Caserio and the Texans.

In this 2022 NFL Mock Draft, the team opts for the top tackle prospect in the draft to protect their young quarterback, Davis Mills. If the team really intends to give Mills a chance to be the future of the franchise, they need to do everything they can to keep him upright. Nothing stunts the growth of a quarterback more than constantly being smacked to the ground by the defense.

Evan Neal is about as solid as they come from the Alabama Crimson Tide. He has experience playing right tackle with the Texans bringing back left tackle Laremy Tunsil and is adept as both a pass and run blocker. He is a plug-and-play cog for any offensive line and would be pivotal to the growth of development of Mills and the Houston offense.

4. Scouting Report. Cincinnati. 30. Pick Analysis. Cornerback. Ahmad Gardner. player

The New York Jets have quite a few needs that they could address early in this 2022 NFL Mock Draft. Lucky for them, they have two top 10 selections this year, and will look to make the most of both of them.

Ahmad “Sauce” Gardner has been a favorite pairing for the New York Jets, but often with the 10th pick instead of the 4th. To me, with how Gardner has been trending leading up to the draft and with the need that they have at cornerback, I think they would be remiss to pass on Gardner with pick four and give another team a chance top grab the lockdown corner.

The New York Jets have not had a true shutdown cornerback since one of the best to ever do it, Darrelle Revis. Revis Island would shut down an entire side of the football field and Gardner has shown the potential to do just that. With his size, length, speed, strength and athleticism, Gardner never allowed a touchdown at the college level. The Jets hope he is able to continue that streak at the next level as a top five pick in this 2022 NFL Mock Draft.
