Round 5, 150th Overall: Jaivon Heiligh, WR, Coastal Carolina

The Chicago Bears head out to the Carolinas area for their last two selections in this Bears mock draft. First up, it’s to get another weapon in the receiving room. Darnell Mooney and Pierce work well getting down the field for Fields to uncork the ball to them and generate big plays, and now Jaivon Heiligh can join the room as a good player in the short-to-intermediate area.

Heiligh didn’t test particularly well, but he’s got an impressive route tree, can sink his hips and be efficient in breaks, and has reliable hands and some burst after the catch. He can work the middle of the field and be a chain-mover in the offense.

Round 6, 186th Overall: Joshua Ezeudu, OL, North Carolina

With nothing totally solved on the interior offensive line to this point, other than a project with potential in Smith, it’s time to get more help in that area. As with Smith, the potential here for Joshua Ezeudu is at multiple positions. He’s got experience at tackle but can easily kick inside and play guard.

Ezeudu might be one of the gems in this class due to the power he plays with and the grip strength and anchor he has in pass protection, which gives Fields more time to work through progressions and hit on shot plays down the field.
