Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Mississippi State. 36. Offensive Tackle. Charles Cross. 9. player

Like the Carolina Panthers, if the Seattle Seahawks don’t use this recently acquired pick in the 2022 NFL Draft on a new quarterback to replace Russell Wilson, they better get some offensive line help to protect whoever does.

In this 2022 NFL Mock Draft, the Seahawks use that selection on Mississippi State’s Charles Cross. Cross is a very well rounded tackle prospect who uses his great length, hand strength and footwork to keep defenders at bay in pass protection, and uses his powerful hands and lower body to dominate in the run game.

For Seattle, they appear to be in the midst of a rebuild. One of the key cogs of any successful rebuild is a franchise left tackle to protect your franchise quarterback. The quarterback part would still be an issue in this scenario, but any opportunity to secure a solid, young left tackle is a good one, especially for a team like the Seahawks.

30. Pick Analysis. Cincinnati. 10. player. Scouting Report. Cornerback. Ahmad Gardner

Just as their Meadowlands companions did earlier, the New York Jets are able to land two of the most talented players in the 2022 NFL Draft. After selecting Kayvon Thibodeaux already, Robert Saleh would be grinning ear-to-ear if Ahmad “Sauce” Gardner is still available at this pick.

As most football fans know by now, Sauce Gardner did not allow a single touchdown while in coverage at the college level. He is a prototypical “lockdown” corner, who can eliminate an entire side of the football field.

With his size, length, speed, fluidity and instincts, Gardner has everything that you look for in a cornerback prospect. Also, he has the confidence and attitude that you seek in a highly competitive defensive back, already stating that he does not plan to give up a touchdown in the NFL, either.

The New York Jets have been lacking a true shutdown corner since one of the best to ever do it, Darrelle Revis. Obviously he has a long way to go to earn that comparison, but it is not crazy to think that Gardner has that kind of a ceiling coming out of the 2022 NFL Draft, with the New York Jets.
