3-Round 2022 NFL Mock Draft after Tyreek Hill, Davante Adams Trades
The Kansas City Chiefs gained this pick in a blockbuster trade with the Miami Dolphins, sending Tyreek Hill home to South Beach. With it? The Chiefs could certainly look to add a playmaker to help fill the shoes of Hill. The team already added wide receivers JuJu Smith-Schuster and Marquez Valdes-Scantling, but adding another dynamic rookie would certainly be helpful.
In a completely loaded 2022 NFL Draft wide receiver class, Jahan Dotson really has the potential to be the most impactful. Especially in the Kansas City offense. Dotson can line up anywhere on the field for the Chiefs, and will use his combination of speed, athleticism and route running to create mismatches across the field.
Jahan Dotson is a very dynamic playmaker that could help fill the void left by Tyreek Hill. It might take a bit of an army for the Kansas City Chiefs to replicate that production, but having a handful of versatile and impactful receivers would be very important for the Kansas City offense in 2022.
In addition to the quarterbacks and the offensive weapons, the teams in the AFC West seem to have unmatched pass rushers as well. Joey Bosa and Khalil Mack for the Chargers, Chandler Jones and Maxx Crosby for the Raiders, Bradley Chubb and Randy Gregory for the Broncos… The Kansas City Chiefs may look to add one of their own.
Boye Mafe is a very versatile defender at 6-foot-4 and 260 lbs. Mafe as experience as a stand-up linebacker, even dropping back in coverage, and can also bump inside to create a mismatch for pass rush. Mafe has good bend around the edge, is great at using his hands and uses his burst and relentless motor to get to the football.
Boye Mafe would be an excellent fit for Steve Spagnuolo’s defense, to roll out there with Chris Jones and Frank Clark. Veteran Melvin Ingram found success in that role with the Chiefs last season, and Make could do the same in 2022 and beyond.
