Round 4, 120th Overall: Zamir White, RB, Georgia

The New Orleans Saints do have a pretty full running back room, especially with Mark Ingram back in house for 2022. However, beyond that year, it’s just Alvin Kamara, who’s going to see a massive cap rise in 2023 and beyond. Hopefully, Kamara gets back to working in the slot and out of the backfield as a (primarily) receiver, and the Saints can find an early down bell cow.

Zamir White is a name to watch in the running back class, and he’s a great pick in this Saints mock draft. White runs behind his pads with great power, and dips well at contact while maintaining his balance. The burst is there as well. He has an injury background, but the traits are very exciting.

Round 5, 161st Overall: Leon O’Neal Jr., S, Texas A&M

Yes, the Saints did add Marcus Maye, but coming back off an achilles injury will not be easy. So, let’s add to the room. Leon O’Neal operates well in the box and in the middle of the field, and he has good ball skills, processing, and impresses as a tackler. He can get reps as a rookie while Maye works to get back on the field.

Round 7, 237th Overall: Cordell Volson, OL, North Dakota State

Offensive line depth is still important for the New Orleans Saints. While Calvin Throckmorton filled in well at times, there’s still a question if he (or even first round pick Cesar Ruiz) are ready to become the full-fledged starters. Cordell Volson is a very solid offensive lineman who provides guard and tackle versatility for the right side of the line.
