2-Round 2022 NFL Mock Draft: Quarterbacks Fly Off The Board Early
By Hunter Haas
The Buccaneers lost veteran Ndamukong Suh this offseason. The defensive line group is full of veterans, as well as 2021 draft pick Joe Tryon-Shoyinka. Here, in this 2022 NFL Mock Draft, they add a young interior defender with immense upside — Devonte Wyatt. Wyatt was constantly overlooked in favor of other Georgia players, but he has the potential to be the best of the bunch.
He played at multiple positions on the line, but he profiles best as a 3-tech. Imagine Wyatt side-by-side with Vita Vea, with both of them being surrounded by elite talent in the rest of the front seven. Wyatt is going to feel just like he did at Georgia, and he may just see another championship ring added to his collection in the near future.
Speaking of Georgia, the Packers land a major difference-maker in this 2022 NFL Mock Draft for the defense with Nakobe Dean. Dean is a bit undersized, but he plays like he’s four inches taller and 20 pounds heavier. He’s also very instinctual, proving to have a real nose for the ball in both the pass game and run game.
Dean seems like he’s magnetized to the football, constantly pursuing tackles through the whistle. He will provide a more-than-adequate counterpart to the recently re-signed D’Vondre Campbell. It’s exciting to imagine Nakobe growing into the leader of the unit, not only with his talent but with his natural ability to make his teammates better. You can’t put a price on a guy with the infectious energy he possesses in droves.
