2-Round 2022 NFL Mock Draft: Quarterbacks Fly Off The Board Early
By Hunter Haas
This is a prime spot for a trade down in this 2022 NFL Mock Draft, but with a couple teams already making their moves, the Patriots are without a trade partner. That’s no bother, because adding a WR with the talent of Chris Olave is something that Patriots fans have been chiming for over the past few seasons. They may be a bit gun-shy after burning a first-round pick on the underwhelming N’Keal Harry, but you can’t let past mistakes influence future decisions.
Olave is about as opposite as it can get from Harry. Harry never showed an ability to consistently create separation while running routes. Olave creates that highly-coveted separation like it’s second nature to him. His release is impeccable and there are almost zero wasted steps in his game. He’s the type of high-character guy that will fit perfectly in Bill Belichick’s locker room.
Yea, I know… I’m not 100% sure what the Packers are going to do with their two picks in the 20s. What they should do is look to bring in a premier talent at WR to replace the recently traded Davante Adams. Treylon Burks fits the bill as a premier talent, and is a great successor to Adams.
Burks is a different player from the former Packers superstar, but he has traits that play-caller Matt LaFleur will be able to utilize in his offense, spearheaded by the reigning back-to-back NFL MVP — Aaron Rodgers. Burks didn’t meet the lofty expectations that followed him into the Combine, but his 4.5 speed at 225 pounds is more than enough, especially when you see how fast he is with the ball in his hands. If this happens, Treylon Burks is going to go super early in your fantasy drafts.
