2022 NFL Mock Draft: Round 1, Pick 11 (Atlanta Falcons)*

*From the earlier trade with the Washington Commanders (Pick 8)

CB. Cincinnati. player. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Sauce Gardner. 11. 44

The Atlanta Falcons need to completely reshape their team in nearly every aspect. They were last in the league in sacks, the secondary is going to lose pieces and now Calvin Ridley is suspended for the 2022 season. Not to mention Matt Ryan is aging and expensive. So, what direction does this team go?

Honestly, it’s hard to say. Best player available is the most likely route. Moving down with the Washington trade will add more assets to the rebuild, but the direction this team takes is a bit up in the air.

A.J. Terrell was impressive this past season and adding Sauce Gardner to the secondary will improve the unit that is set to lose other pieces. Gardner and Terrell in the secondary will be a good start for this defense that is going to need multiple pieces this offseason.

2022 NFL Mock Draft: Round 1, Pick 12 (Minnesota Vikings)

60. Scouting Report. Trent McDuffie. player. 12. Pick Analysis. CB. Washington

The Minnesota Vikings defense could be picked apart this offseason through free agency and what they lose will play a big part in how this pick is used. If they lose both Patrick Peterson and Xavier Woods, then this pick should be in the secondary.

Trent McDuffie has been a rising prospect recently. His stats don’t jump off the page, but there’s clear potential in his game. A 4.44 40-time with strong footwork will translate well to coverage in a division that will now have to face Aaron Rodgers for another four years.
