2022 NFL Mock Draft: Round 1, Pick 7 (New York Giants)

Scouting Report. EDGE. Oregon. Kayvon Thibodeaux. 7. player. Pick Analysis. 31

With two picks in the Top 10 bookending the Carolina Panthers, the New York Giants are in a great position. Not only are they able to grab two top talents in this class, but they also have the freedom to see how the draft falls. Here, they grab a potential falling star.

Once in the first overall pick conversation, Kayvon Thibodeaux has lost a bit of his stock. His Combine wasn’t the best and the rise of other players is beginning to push him down lists. The Giants are the benefactor of that here.

Despite the drop in draft stock, Thibodeaux is still a proven talent. Over 30 college games, he tallied 35.5 tackles for loss and 19 sacks. Taking him and Cross will address the trenches for the Giants on both sides of the ball and set the stage for the new era of New York Giants football.

2022 NFL Mock Draft: Round 1, Pick 8 (Trade)

Atlanta Falcons trade #8 to the Washington Commanders for #11, #47 and future picks

58. Scouting Report. QB. Liberty. Pick Analysis. Malik Willis. 8. player

Yes, the Washington Commanders just traded multiple third round picks for Carson Wentz, but that doesn’t mean they are done at the quarterback position this offseason. Wentz has struggled the last couple seasons and could be cut loose at any time with no dead cap, leaving the door open for a rookie.

With Seattle now holding the ninth pick, the Commanders trade up to add Malik Willis. Willis showcased his strong arm at the Combine and looked like the best quarterback of the class. Taking him and sitting him behind Wentz for a bit is the best plan moving forward for Washington. Willis can learn from Wentz while preparing to eventually take over the offense.
