2022 NFL Mock Draft: Round 2, Pick 55 (Arizona Cardinals)

55. 32. Scouting Report. Iowa State. Breece Hall. Pick Analysis. RB. player

The 2021 season showed the Arizona Cardinals what the offense can do with a stable running game. Whether it was James Conner, Chase Edmonds or someone else in the backfield, the Cardinals were as good as their running game allowed them to be, despite the explosive passing game. With both Conner and Edmonds entering free agency, perhaps the 2022 NFL Draft could aid in the solution.

Breece Hall is the most recent Matt Campbell running back product to enter the draft, joining Kareem Hunt and David Montgomery. Having rushed for at least 1,400 yards each of the last two seasons to go along with two 20-touchdown campaigns, Hall could be a gigantic weapon for the Cardinals.

Drawing comparisons to Matt Forte, Hall would fit well into the Arizona offense and hopefully provide a consistent running game from week to week.

2022 NFL Mock Draft: Round 2, Pick 56 (Dallas Cowboys)

Scouting Report. EDGE. San Diego State. player. 123. Pick Analysis. Cameron Thomas. 56

The Dallas Cowboys could potentially lose Randy Gregory and Dorance Armstrong this offseason from their pass rush. If that’s the case, the Cowboys will need to find a solution to fill the void left off the edge.

One player that could do that late in the second round is Cameron Thomas. Thomas had a breakout season in 2021, logging 20.5 tackles for loss and 10.5 sacks while tallying 71 tackles. Those numbers were quite inflated from this previous seasons, but not necessarily out of the ordinary.

In each of his first two seasons at San Diego State, Thomas registered nine tackles for loss and at least four sacks. While 2021 was off the charts, he’s already proven he can do it year-to-year to a certain extent.
