2022 NFL Mock Draft: Round 2, Pick 45 (Baltimore Ravens)

CB. Roger McCreary. 45. player. Scouting Report. Auburn. 26. Pick Analysis

The Baltimore Ravens had one of the worst passing defenses in the NFL during the 2021 season. They allowed the most yards, over 200 more than the next team on the list, and allowed the most 40+ yard passing plays with 16. Now, part of that is because of injuries, but Baltimore needs to add depth regardless because Jimmy Smith and Anthony Averett are free agents.

Roger McCreary could be a great value pick in the second round for any team. As a senior at Auburn, he tallied an impressive 14 passes defended. That skill alone will make him worth the draft pick and a strong addition to this Baltimore secondary.

2022 NFL Mock Draft: Round 2, Pick 46 (Minnesota Vikings)

player. 60. Pick Analysis. Georgia. Lewis Cine. Scouting Report. S. 46

By pure coincidence, it’s becoming a trend to have teams double-dip secondary during the first two rounds of this 2022 NFL Mock Draft. After taking Trent McDuffie in the first round, the Minnesota Vikings return to the secondary with this pick, adding a safety.

The emphasis on the secondary is warranted for the Vikings. They finished 28th for passing yards allowed and are set to lose multiple pieces from the group. The addition of two early draft picks will help tremendously.

While Lewis Cine might not tally a ton of interceptions, he does play the center field role well. He posted nine passes defended in addition to 73 tackles during the 2021 season for Georgia.
