2022 NFL Mock Draft: Round 2, Pick 41 (Trade)

Seattle Seahawks trade #41 to the New Orleans Saints for #49 and other selections

player. Scouting Report. QB. North Carolina. 15. Pick Analysis. Sam Howell. 41

The Seahawks needs to acquire picks for the future, so watch for them to be movers during the 2022 NFL Draft. As for the New Orleans Saints, they need to figure out the plan at quarterback moving forward. Seeing a need to get in front of the Indianapolis Colts, the Saints make a move up to secure their quarterback.

At 6-foot even, Sam Howell relies on his football IQ and ability in the pocket as a quarterback. In fact, the way he plays the position might remind some of Drew Brees. (He’s not Drew Brees, at least not yet, but the comparison can be made). Howell could potentially become a starter in 2022, but sitting him to start would be the best scenario for the Saints.

2022 NFL Mock Draft: Round 2, Pick 42 (Indianapolis Colts)

Scouting Report. QB. Nevada. Pick Analysis. Carson Strong. 42. player. 46

The Indianapolis Colts bailed on the Carson Wentz experiment after just one season and it cost them their first round pick in this draft. Now, the Colts’ quarterback room consists of Sam Ehlinger and James Morgan. The addition of a veteran could be in play, but the Colts have been there the last two seasons with one-year runs from Wentz and Philip Rivers. A long-term plan could be the preferred route now.

Coming from Nevada, Carson Strong hasn’t received the attention he perhaps should. Some have even made the comparison to Josh Allen coming out of college or Drew Bledsoe. The size and arm strength is certainly there, throwing for over 4,000 yards in 2021 over 12 games. If there’s a quarterback in this class who could fall to Indy, Strong is the best scenario they could ask for.
