2022 NFL Mock Draft: Round 1, Pick 3 (Houston Texans)

Kyle Hamilton. player. 10. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. S. Notre Dame. 3

The Houston Texans are in position this year to continually take the best player available. This roster is essentially down to the studs and in the midst of a full rebuild. If there’s a team that wants to jump up to take a quarterback, Houston could be a team to listen to acquire more picks down the road.

Sticking to that thought process, there might not be a player who solidified their value at the NFL Combine more than Kyle Hamilton. In a league that is being overrun defensively by edge rushers in terms of value, Hamilton has the chance to showcase what a solid safety can provide. At 6-foot-4 219, he could rewrite what the safety position can do at the NFL level.

2022 NFL Mock Draft: Round 1, Pick 4 (New York Jets)

Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. N.C. State. Ikem Ekwonu. 30. OT. 4. player

The New York Jets need to protect Zach Wilson. Wilson was sacked 44 times and lost an NFL-high 370 yards on those plays. If the Jets want Wilson to succeed, they need to give him some protection during the 2022 NFL Draft. Luckily, their draft position should allow them to take one of the top tackles in the class.

As I said earlier, Ekwonu nearly catapulted himself into the top tackle spot at the NFL Combine, meaning he’s right in line with Neal in many ways. If Ekwonu falls down to the Jets with the fourth selection, they need to run their card up to take him.
