2022 NFL Mock Draft: Round 2, Pick 35 (New York Jets)

The New York Jets have two early second round picks in addition to their two first rounders, giving them four picks in the first 38 picks of the 2022 NFL Draft. That capital will allow them to make some big strides in their rebuild. After going to the trenches during the first round, they turn their attention to the secondary in the second.

Marcus Maye could be leaving the Jets this offseason, which would leave a sizable hole in the secondary. Daxton Hill might not be drawing the attention of other Big Ten prospects, but he knows how to contribute in multiple ways. In 2021, he tallied eight passes defended on top of two interceptions, 69 tackles and 4.5 tackles for loss. He can do a bit of everything, which would help this New York defense.

Scouting Report. WR. Christian Watson. 36. Pick Analysis. North Dakota State. player. 31

The New York Giants passing game was flat out awful during the 2021 season. Kenny Golladay was a disappointment and the group as a whole just couldn’t stay healthy. If the organization has any hope left in Daniel Jones, they need to provide him better weapons.

Christian Watson is going under the radar right now due to the big names of players and schools for other wide receivers in this class. Watson showcased his athleticism at the Combine and could be a diamond in the rough. For a team in need of a wide receiver, but probably needing to wait until the second round to address it, Watson is a nice fit.
