2022 NFL Mock Draft: Round 1, Pick 23 (Arizona Cardinals)

Chandler Jones has been the driving force on the Arizona defense for a while now, but his contract expiring could force the Cardinals hand with this selection. There will be other ways to address their edge rush, but if Jermaine Johnson is still on the board, he’ll be hard to pass up.

Transferring to Florida State from Georgia prior to the 2021 season, the Last Chance U prospect Johnson blossomed with the Seminoles. Over 12 games in 2021 he tallied 17.5 tackles for loss in addition to 12 sacks. If those stats can translate to the NFL, Johnson will be a perfect player to try and fill the void left behind by Jones.

2022 NFL Mock Draft: Round 1, Pick 24 (Dallas Cowboys)

The last couple seasons the Dallas Cowboys have been in the talk of having the best wide receiver room in the league on paper. However, they haven’t lived up to expectations and the unit could see an overhaul around CeeDee Lamb over the coming months. Not only are the Cowboys set to cut Amari Cooper, but Michael Gallup, Cedric Wilson and Malik Turner are all free agents.

The next few weeks could remove four of Dallas’ top five receivers from this past season, meaning something has to happen either in free agency or the 2022 NFL Draft. Here, they find an explosive playmaker that should compliment Lamb in Treylon Burks.

Burks has been compared to Deebo Samuel with his playmaking ability with the ball in his hands. He can be a dangerous weapon in the run game and opens up the playbook for trick plays. He could make a fine addition to the Cowboys’ offense.
