Arizona Cardinals 7-Round 2022 NFL Mock Draft: Supporting Kyler Murray
The Arizona Cardinals need to help out their franchise quarterback, Kyler Murray, and they do so in multiple ways in this 2022 NFL Mock Draft.
The Arizona Cardinals made the NFL playoffs last year but were promptly and unceremoniously eliminated by the Los Angeles Rams. The Cardinals showed flashes of greatness in 2021 before ultimately flaming out. They’re slightly over the salary cap as of this writing, so the 2022 NFL Draft will be a vital and cost-effective way to improve their roster ahead of the 2022-23 NFL season.
What’s going to happen with the Kyler Murray drama is anybody’s guess, but for the sake of this 2022 NFL Mock Draft, we’ll assume that he’s staying put. Multiple Cardinals tight ends and running backs will be free agents this offseason, so I have them addressing both of those positions in this mock draft. Arizona also gets some much-needed help on the defense side of the ball at defensive back and edge rusher.
One of the problems with the Cardinals’ draft situation is that they lack middle round picks. Without making any trades, Arizona would not have had any selections in the fourth or fifth rounds. They would have had multiple sixth and seventh round selections however, but as most draft gurus know, the chances of those picks hitting are quite slim.
Arizona Cardinals 2022 Mock Draft: Supporting Kyler Murray
In this 2022 NFL Mock Draft, I have the Arizona Cardinals adding a middle-round pick through a trade and using it to fill a potential vacancy created by free agency. Securing impact players for a low price could ultimately make the difference between the Cardinals building off of last year’s successful first half of the season and either failing to make the playoffs or petering out early once again. Here is an Arizona Cardinals 2022 7-round NFL Mock Draft.
