3. Houston Texans: Ikem Ekwonu, OT, North Carolina State

The Houston Texans could be in for a whirlwind of an offseason, one that could have a couple high-profile trades. DeShaun Watson could be on the move, and if the full rebuild is in the cards, trading Laremy Tunsil makes sense too, leaving a big hole on the offensive line. That’s the direction in this 2022 NFL Mock Draft.

Ikem Ekwonu is the selection here, and he brings that mentality to be a dominant left tackle. He road grades in the run game consistently, with pancakes all over his resume, and his skills in pass protection have gotten better. He can snatch with strong hands and great grip strength. They’ll give Davis Mills the best chance to succeed in 2022, and Ekwonu will be a big part of that.

4. New York Jets: Kyle Hamilton, S, Notre Dame

Passing on Kayvon Thibodeaux in this 2022 NFL Mock Draft may seem absolutely insane for the New York Jets, and it’s understandable to be frustrated as a Jets fan. However, there seems to be something odd going on with the NFL that has him dropping in mocks.

There is a rumor the Jets love Kyle Hamilton, and they need to get an impact safety in their defense. Even if Marcus Maye gets re-signed, he might not be on the field until late in the year. Hamilton is an elite prospect at safety with the range and versatility to lock down tight ends and roam deep.
