2-Round 2022 NFL Mock Draft: Vikings Go QB, Ravens Get Jordan Davis
21. New England Patriots: Garrett Wilson, WR, Ohio State
To keep pace in a strong AFC, the New England Patriots will need to get better in the secondary and find more weapons in the passing game for Mac Jones. This pick could be very different if J.C. Jackson indeed doesn’t return, but we shall see on that front. In this 2022 NFL Mock Draft, receiver is the move.
Garrett Wilson has the tools to be a WR1, and he can be a favorite target for Jones in year one. Wilson is a great separating route runner, with impressive flexibility, crisp routes, and an affinity for attacking blind spots when corners open their hips. He has the leaping ability to win at the catch point, and is slippery with the ball in his hands.
22. Las Vegas Raiders: Tyler Linderbaum, C, Iowa
New head coach Josh McDaniels will likely keep Derek Carr in house and build a strong offense with great timing routes, which plays to Hunter Renfrow’s strengths and should get Darren Waller back on track when he’s healthy in 2022. The one thing that needs to get better is the offensive line, the direction here in this 2022 NFL Mock Draft.
Tyler Linderbaum is a bit of an undersized center, but his traits and dominance at Iowa shouldn’t be overlooked. His ability as a space blocker is great, and he picks off second level defenders with ease. He’s strong enough to hold up in pass protection as well.
