This post-combine 2022 NFL Mock Draft features two rounds of edge rushers and corners flying off the board, along with just four quarterbacks selected.

The NFL Scouting Combine is in the rear view mirror, and it was one of the fastest on record. Several positions had their fastest group ever, from the running backs to the linebackers and the defensive linemen. The Georgia Bulldogs made their stamp on the combine, headlined by the insane numbers posted by Jordan Davis and Travon Walker.

The receiver room produced some fireworks as well, as the Ohio State pair broke 4.4 and Christian Watson had an unbelievable day of testing. Baylor’s football and track studs provided more entertainment in the 40-yard dash.

2-Round 2022 NFL Mock Draft

There will be some overreacting for sure to the numbers this past week, which always happens. Evaluations will still come (in majority) from the film and interviews down in Mobile and in Indianapolis.

Let’s dive in to this latest 2022 NFL Mock Draft that takes into account a bit of last week, along with info from those in draft media. Two full rounds and off we go!

1. Jacksonville Jaguars: Evan Neal, OT, Alabama

The Jacksonville Jaguars kick off this 2022 NFL Mock Draft by selecting the favorite to go first overall. Yes, Ikem Ekwonu had a good combine and clearly interviewed well, but Evan Neal is still the selection here.

Neal is still a dominant athlete as well, and made a great transition to left tackle in 2021. His balance is still a question mark in pass protection, but he fires off the ball well and plays low in his sets to handle speed rushers. His power and footwork are able to handle crafty rushers, and he gets after it in the run game. Protecting Trevor Lawrence is important, and Neal helps that out.

2. Detroit Lions: Aidan Hutchinson, EDGE, Michigan

Another pick that feels like a near-guarantee at this point, the Detroit Lions need to find that dominant player on their front seven to elevate their defense. Aidan Hutchinson can be a guy who reaches double digit sacks consistently.

Hutchinson tested extremely well at the combine and checked a lot of boxes, including a fantastic three cone time to confirm he’s got the bend and quickness. He won’t win with length at the next level, but he’s got the explosion, power, rush moves and counters to be a three down playmaker.
