Round 4, 109th Overall: Damone Clark, LB, LSU

Linebacker is a position that the New York Jets need to find more help at, especially due to the lack of depth. Blake Cashman hasn’t found his stride, getting someone to play consistent ball next to C.J. Mosley will help out Saleh’s defense.

The linebacker class is deep, and there will be great value throughout the draft. Damone Clark would be a great get on day three of the 2022 NFL Draft because of the improvements he made down the stretch in 2021. Clark is a good processor pre-snap, and has the closing speed and physical stature to be a downhill thumper. He lives off of contact and has the athleticism to work in coverage.

Round 4, 115th Overall: Zyon McCollum, CB, Sam Houston State

Yes, the Jets have a solid trio on the back end at corner. Brandin Echols, Bryce Hall, and Michael Carter II have done a fine job, but staying pat at the position seems like a stroke of complacency, especially considering the conference and division they are in.

It might seem early to select Zyon McCollum, but the athleticism is going to pop at the combine. He’s got quick transitions in coverage, and can handle himself with good technique in press coverage. He can join a fun young rotation of corners.
