Round 4, 110th Overall: Chris Paul, OL, Tulsa

With tackle and center taking care of so far for the New York Giants in this 2022 NFL Mock Draft, now we get some value at guard on day three of the 2022 NFL Draft. Will Hernandez didn’t work out, and Shane Lemieux might not ever be a starter, so getting someone rock solid at the position is important to keep the pocket clean.

Chris Paul is another player with tackle experience, but he likely shifts inside at the next level. His grip strength, anchor, and hand placement is impressive, and his impressive versatility gives the Giants some flexibility when, inevitably, injuries arise.

Round 5, 146th Overall: Terrel Bernard, LB, Baylor

To say that the linebacker room is underwhelming is an understatement for the New York Giants. They still have stat-sheet-stuffer Blake Martinez anchoring things at the MIKE position, but there isn’t much outside of that, other than hoping Carter Coughlin or Justin Hilliard makes a jump.

It’ll be interesting to see how Schoen handles the linebacker position, as the Bills drafted Tremaine Edmunds, a young and athletic playmaker with great size, or look for an undersized run and chase type. They’ve done both, but getting someone to operate in space makes sense. Terrel Bernard can do that, as he has impressive range and instincts as a linebacker.
