CB. Washington. 16. Scouting Report. Kyler Gordon. 31. player. Pick Analysis

The Bills came up just short against the Kansas City Chiefs in the 2021 NFL Playoffs. After a back and forth battle throughout the fourth quarter, it looked as though the Bills were going to advance following a go-ahead touchdown with only 15 seconds remaining on the game clock. And then Patrick Mahomes happened. The Chiefs were — somehow — able to get in position for a game-tying field goal with only a couple perfectly executed plays, before going on to win in overtime.

Now that the sting has worn off, Buffalo must do everything in their power to ensure they’re prepared for an inevitable rematch in the near future. Adding cornerback help opposite Tre’Davious White is at the top of the list, and that’s the direction in this 2022 NFL Mock Draft.

Kyler Gordon is one of the best pure athletes in the 2022 NFL Draft. Once he puts the world on notice with his astonishing 40-yard and three-cone times, he will lock up a spot in the first round. Much like Eric Stokes last year, Gordon oozes physical traits that will make him a favorite in workouts. He is still learning all of the nuances of the position, but if he’s able to bring the mental aspect of his game up to the level of his physical attributes, the sky is the limit.

Pick Analysis. QB. Ole Miss. 32. 50. Scouting Report. Matt Corral. player

There are a few teams that have the potential of trading up to select a quarterback here. Moving up to 32 gives teams the ability to exercise a fifth-year option, something that is very desirable for salary cap purposes.

Rather than allowing someone else to take the talented Ole Miss quarterback, I have the Lions holding on to the selection and taking Matt Corral themselves in this 2022 NFL Mock Draft. Detroit already has multiple firsts in 2023, so instead of stocking up even more for next offseason, they take a low-risk approach at pick 32.

The potential Corral has is undeniable. He has a lively arm and a leadership quality that is intoxicating to be around. Corral ran a very RPO heavy offense under Lane Kiffin, having a lot schemed up for him.

He is capable of running an offense of that ilk as a rookie, but I would like to see him sit behind Goff until he proves to be ready. Corral could play the final 4-5 weeks, and if he shows the potential to be the guy going forward then it’s a big win. Even if he doesn’t pan out, the Lions already added Hutchinson this draft and have no future assets tied to Corral. It is the ultimate no risk move.
