Round 6, 188th Overall: Keontay Ingram, RB, USC

Patterson did some great things for the Atlanta Falcons in 2021, and should be viewed as a long-term chess piece for the offense. However, the Falcons certainly need to find a bell cow running back to handle Smith’s outside zone scheme. They get him here in the sixth round.

Keontay Ingram should definitely be on the draft radar on day three. The lateral toolbox he possesses jumps off the screen with his tape. He’s patient to wait for openings, and stays decisive when he needs to. In space, he’s hard to bring down with sharp cuts and impressive contact balance. He drops the pads well to finish runs and would offer an impact on passing downs as well.

Round 6, 211th Overall: Jake Hansen, LB, Illinois

Falcons fans were not pleased with the performance of Deion Jones in 2021, and rightly so. His play dipped heavily from previous seasons, but hopefully a bounce back in 2022 is in the cards. Foye Oluokun should be a priority to re-sign in free agency, but even then, the room looks a bit thin in terms of talent.

Jake Hansen would be an interesting pick late. He has the instincts and processing to thrive working downhill against the run, and his processing skills in coverage have led to several turnovers in his time with the Illini.
