Atlanta Falcons 7-Round 2022 Mock Draft: Disruptors On The Edge
Round 1, 8th Overall: Treylon Burks, WR, Arkansas
There is going to be a phenomenal talent available for the Atlanta Falcons at eight, especially if quarterback desperation takes over with a few potential teams in the middle of the first round looking to move up. Corner is a position that makes complete sense here, and it’s possible they’d have every available corner on the board at the eighth slot.
However, going wide receiver is way too much fun here. With Ridley likely out, creating a scary duo with Pitts will make Smith’s offense that much more dangerous. The upside swing is the move here, and the Falcons go with Arkansas receiver Treylon Burks in this mock draft.
At 6’3″ and 225 pounds, Burks is an incredible blend of size and speed. He was given a lot of gadget touches at Arkansas, where he could utilize his speed to erase angles and create big plays after the catch. His size makes him a nightmare to handle at the catch point, and his ability to extend outside his frame and make tough catches is just another day at the office.
While Burks is honing in on mastering the route tree, he can receive some schemed touches in the offense and utilize his skill set to win vertically and in mesh concepts over the middle of the field.
