Jacksonville Jaguars protect Trevor Lawrence in 7-round 2022 Mock Draft

Round 7, Pick 219: Michael Clemons, DL, Texas A&M
NFL teams can never have too many edge rushers and using late round picks on that position is always a good use of the selections. For Michael Clemons, he posted a strong 2021 season, but it came after quiet seasons before.
Last year, Clemons tallied 11 tackles for loss and seven sacks while forcing a fumble and returning a recovered fumble for a touchdown. The only problem is from his three seasons prior he had a total of 9.5 tackles for loss and 5.5 sacks.
The 2021 season was great, but was it a fluke? How he tests could be very telling of where he ends up being selected in this draft.
Round 7, Pick 232: Chris Owens, OL, Alabama
Offensive line is another position that always needs more depth and finding one in the seventh from a school like Alabama makes it a confident selection for any team. Chris Owens played essentially a glorified depth role at Alabama. He started 20 games, including 12 at right tackle and one at center.
Owens can play anywhere on the line and can do it well enough to fill any gap that Jacksonville might have come up. It’s not a highlight pick, but it’s one that could be very valuable moving forward for the Jags in this 2022 NFL Mock Draft.
