Round 6, Pick 178: Charlie Kolar, TE, Iowa State

The Jacksonville Jaguars currently have four picks in the sixth round giving them the ability to address depth at multiple positions. One position that Jacksonville has struggled to find talent at for a while now is tight end. They’ve given shots to Julius Thomas and others, but no one has been able to have success.

Having a solid tight end can provide a great safety net for a young quarterback, especially when close to the end zone. Charlie Kolar put up three straight seasons of production at Iowa State. He tallied a career-high 756 receiving yards in 2021 and caught six touchdowns this past season after seven in both 2019 and 2020. Adding that to Lawrence’s progression could really help lower those 17 interceptions.

Round 6, Pick 186: Jalen Nailor, WR, Michigan State

The NFL is trending towards more and more incorporation of playmakers. We’ve witnessed it with Deebo Samuel and Cordarrelle Patterson, players that can be both running backs and wide receivers depending on the play call and players on the field. That’s a skill set that Jalen Nailor could bring to the Jaguars.

Nailor began at Michigan State with eight catches and nine carries during his freshman year, totaling over 260 total yards. After that he transitioned into a wide receiver role mainly, but his ability is there to run the ball when needed. At this point in the draft, Nailor would provide a low risk, high reward selection if he can become a weapon of that nature.
