Outlook

The combine ahead of the 2022 NFL Draft will be of paramount importance for Sincere McCormick. The shorter drills like the 20-yard shuttle and three cone drill could be an opportunity for him to flourish. His measurements probably won’t surprise anyone (unless he’s actually smaller than his listed height and weight), and his 40-yard dash time will shed some light on where he’s going to be selected.

In high school, McCormick reportedly ran a 4.5 in the 40-yard dash, but some draft experts project him to run around a 4.55 in the combine in March. If he does, that would be one more thing he’d have in common with Packers running back Aaron Jones, who ran a 4.56 in the 40-yard dash in pre-draft workouts and was a fifth round pick in the 2017 NFL Draft.

Sincere McCormick will have a lot to prove both before the 2022 NFL Draft and afterwards wherever he gets selected. He had the option to return to UTSA for another season but elected to declare for the 2022 NFL Draft. He’s small and he doesn’t have breakaway top end speed, but that doesn’t mean he can’t be an effective NFL running back.

What it does likely mean, however, is that he won’t be selected in the first four rounds of the 2022 NFL Draft. Many experts have him projected as a sixth round selection, and I see the fifth round as his best case scenario. Despite his lack of elite measurables, there’s few players that run harder than Sincere McCormick. He’s a joy to watch as a runner and seeing him blast through the hole and zip through defenses must be seen to be genuinely appreciated.

Whatever ends up ultimately being Sincere McCormick’s NFL fate, he’ll have to prove doubters wrong at every turn and truly earn it. And I doubt he would want it any other way.
