Sincere McCormick is the two-time Conference USA Offensive Player of the Year. He’ll try to prove that size and speed aren’t everything when it comes to the evaluation process ahead of the 2022 NFL Draft.

In their 10th season as an FBS team, the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) Roadrunners went 12-1 in the regular season and took home the Conference USA championship. Before the 2021 season, they hadn’t won more than 7 games in any campaign. But the Roadrunners had their breakthrough under second-year head coach Jeff Traylor, highlighted by road wins over Illinois and Memphis, and a Conference USA Championship Game triumph over Western Kentucky.

If all that wasn’t enough, UTSA will likely have three players selected in the upcoming 2022 NFL Draft. Cornerback Tariq Woolen is projected to be selected in the third round, and offensive tackle Spencer Burford and running back Sincere McCormick are projected to be late round selections. While Woolen and Burford have a good chance of being selected ahead of Sincere McCormick, the UTSA running back was the star of the team and of the entire conference this past season.

Sincere McCormick did a lot to help his 2022 NFL Draft stock in 2021 as he was third in the country in carries (298), seventh in the nation in rushing yards (1,479), and tied for thirteenth in the FBS with 15 rushing touchdowns. As you might imagine, McCormick led Conference USA in both rushing attempts and rushing yards and finished second in rushing touchdowns. For the second year in a row, Sincere McCormick earned the Conference USA Offensive Player of the Year Award. He was also a semifinalist for the Doak Walker Award, given out yearly to the nation’s best running back.

Sincere McCormick is difficult to compare to other highly touted running backs in the NFL, because most of the top rushers weigh up around 215-220 pounds. But I settled on Green Bay’s Aaron Jones as a player comp due to their similar size (Jones is 5’9” 208, McCormick is 5’9” 205), running style (they’re both quick to the line of scrimmage and more powerful runners than you might think), lack of top end speed, and similar collegiate school selections (both went to smaller state schools near their hometowns in Texas). Jones was also selected in the fifth round of the 2017 NFL draft, and that’s about where McCormick is projected to go.

Before we go any further into Sincere McCormick’s 2022 NFL Draft profile, let’s take a look at his background and how he got to this point.
