Round 4, 137th Overall: Zyon McCollum, CB, Sam Houston State

It’s very possible that the Pittsburgh Steelers address the corner position earlier than this, but they do it later. The hope is Cam Sutton can continue to be a starter in 2021, and there’s a good chance that Ahkello Witherspoon returns. Pittsburgh also likes what they have in Tre Norwood as well, but the depth needs to be addressed.

Zyon McCollum possesses sufficient size, and can handle things in press coverage. He’s physical, can sink his hips to quickly change direction, and be a disruptor at the catch point.

Round 7, 222nd Overall: Liam Shanahan, C, LSU

As mentioned before, the center position is a gaping hole after the play of Green in 2021. He could shift over to guard to regain value in the offense, but again, center needs to be a priority. Liam Shanahan doesn’t have much buzz around his game, but he’s got great size and pass protection skills for the position. He can improve as a run blocker, but it’s something that can be coached up in the NFL.

Round 7, 238th Overall: Eyioma Uwazurike, DL, Iowa State

Things round out for the Pittsburgh Steelers along the defensive line. Obviously, it’s a strength for them, and might not be addressed in the 2022 NFL Draft, but why not have more of a good thing? Eyioma Uwazruike is a very solid run defender who can get in the rotation as a pass rusher as well with the flashes he’s put on tape.
