Round 4, Pick 105: Matthew Butler, DT, Tennessee

The interior of the Cleveland Browns defensive line needs work, but they might be better suited to find the right piece in free agency. However, they still need depth at the position and Matthew Butler can provide that with some upside.

Butler didn’t tally a ton of tackles over his time in college, but when he did get a tackle he was able to make it count. Butler had 16 tackles for loss and 9.5 sacks at Tennessee. He’s not a player who can step in and start, but he’s a strong rotational piece that can blossom into something bigger down the road.

Round 4, Pick 116: Josh Jobe, CB, Alabama

Like edge rushers, you can never have too many defensive backs. The Cleveland Browns have a strong core at cornerback with Denzel Ward, Greg Newsome and Greedy Williams. However, as contracts come down the pike the Browns are going to need some depth to curb any departures.

Josh Jobe showed flashes at Alabama, but lacked the consistency in a great defense to gain enough traction in the draft process. His 2020 season was impressive, but he fell off a bit in 2021 and that will hurt his stock. In this 2022 NFL Mock Draft, the Cleveland Browns are the benefactor.

In 2020, Jobe tallied 11 passes defended with 55 tackles and two forced fumbles. He won’t intercept many passes, but the ability to find the ball and make a play other ways is there. This could be a steal for Cleveland.
