Philadelphia Eagles: Jalen Hurts

There was a lot of growth for Jalen Hurts in his second season in the NFL and first as the regular starter from beginning to end. The start was a bit bumpy, going 2-5 to start the season, but he rebounded well and led the team to a playoff appearance. There’s still work to do, but Hurts’ growth is what teams like the Jets will be hoping to see in 2022.

After starting four games in 2020, Hurts entered the 2021 campaign as “the guy” in Philly. As the starter, he paced the Eagles to an 8-7 finish during the regular season. Hurts was able to total 26 touchdowns on the season, 16 passing and 10 rushing, while having just nine interceptions. That’s a rather decent ratio.

The outlook for Philadelphia is strong as well. The Eagles have three picks in the first round to continue this build and it should be Hurts at the helm. Some are calling for a quarterback with one of those picks, but Philly would be smart to add weapons, protection and defense around Hurts for the time being. He’s done enough to show he can run this offense and with some help could be even more of a dual threat weapon himself.
