New York Giants: Daniel Jones

The patience within the New York Giants organization for Daniel Jones is growing thin. Jones will be entering his fourth season with the Giants in 2022 and it could be his last chance to prove himself as their quarterback moving forward.

As a starter, Jones has a record of 12-25 but there’s been steady improvement for him over his career. His completion percentage has gone up each season in the league and his interception rate has gone down. He’s also been able to cut down his fumbles after having 19 as a rookie.

What’s holding Jones back is that while he has improved, the team’s outlook has not. He’s yet to win more than five games in a single season as the starter. Furthermore, he’s yet to start more than 14 games in a single season.

The hope is Brian Daboll can help push Jones along, the way he was able to mentor Josh Allen in Buffalo. The key to that will be keeping Jones on the field. It’s hard to show consistent growth when you aren’t consistently playing.

If Jones can play a full schedule and continue his trends in the completion and interception departments then he could keep this job moving forward. If not, then expect the Giants to be looking for a new quarterback a year from now.
