NFL: Predicting the week one starting quarterback for all 32 teams
By Kyle Edmond
Green Bay Packers: Jordan Love
With the expectation that Aaron Rodgers moves on from Green Bay, it can be equally assumed that Jordan Love will takeover under center for the Packers. The 26th overall selection in 2020 NFL Draft, Love started his first game during the 2021 season, and it was a tough road matchup with the Kansas City Chiefs.
In that game, Love went 19-of-34 through the air and tossed a touchdown, but also had an interception and a fumble, which he recovered. Over the course of the season, Love appeared in six games. He logged a completion percentage of 58.1% while throwing two touchdowns and three interceptions. He also added 27 yards rushing.
The reality for Green Bay is that Love is far from Aaron Rodgers and we still don’t know what this team will look like around the quarterback in 2022. Davante Adams could be gone along with multiple other pieces on both sides of the ball. There will be a new offensive coordinator. What about Matt LaFleur? What does he do without an MVP quarterback?
If it is Love, expect a good amount of growing pains in 2022 for both Jordan Love and the Green Bay Packers in general. It could be a very different season than what this organization has become used to seeing.
