19. Philadelphia Eagles: Tyler Linderbaum, C, Iowa

Scouting Report. Iowa. Tyler Linderbaum. player. Pick Analysis. C. 19. 54

After trading back from the 16 pick, the Eagles now have back-to-back picks at 19 and 20 instead of 15 and 16. They went secondary with their first selection and move to the offensive side of the ball with their second pick here in this 2022 NFL Mock Draft.

As it currently stands, there’s only one player on the Philadelphia offense set to enter free agency that ended the year as a starter. That’s Jason Kelce. Kelce will turn 35 during the upcoming season and has spent his entire career with the Eagles, beginning in 2011.

Kelce could very well return, but if the Eagles are looking to turn the page at the center position Tyler Linderbaum might be the best center in this draft class. Linderbaum has been pretty much exclusively a center and will translate to the NFL the same way, so this only fits if Kelce moves on in some form or fashion.

Linderbaum was a Rimington Trophy finalist in 2020 while receiving First-Team All-American status from a few outlets. As for the 2021 season, Linderbaum captured the Rimington Trophy and once again was an All-American. If he’s the one to take over for Kelce, Philly fans should be overjoyed with the use of the Eagles’ second first round pick.
