18. New Orleans Saints: Matt Corral, QB, Mississippi

The New Orleans Saints might be the biggest question mark this offseason. Who will end up being their head coach for the 2022 season? Do they decide to resign Jameis Winston? What about Michael Thomas, how does that situation shake out? Until those questions have answers, it will be very difficult to project anything for the Saints this upcoming offseason.

However, if there was a player that could interest the Saints without answers to those questions, it would be Matt Corral. Corral isn’t NFL-ready yet, he’s going to need some time, but the Saints could provide that if they bring back Winston.

Corral can sling it, we know that. He threw for over 3,300 yards each of the last two seasons. He can run, rushing for over 600 yards and 11 touchdowns during the 2021 season. What he needs to prove is he can keep up with the NFL.

Corral also had an ankle sprain in the Sugar Bowl. That shouldn’t be a problem come draft time, but it could hurt his ability to showcase himself during the draft process and give confidence to teams looking to take him. If the Saints are willing to take a chance, like in this 2022 NFL Mock Draft, Corral could be a better version of Taysom Hill in terms of quarterback skill set.
