15. Philadelphia Eagles (via MIA): Andrew Booth Jr., CB, Clemson

Clemson. CB. Andrew Booth Jr.. 15. player. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. 54

The Philadelphia Eagles have three picks in the first round, including back-to-back here at 15 and 16. Earlier in the season it seemed like quarterback could be a need, but Jalen Hurts showed growth over the course of the season which should allow the Eagles to use all three picks to build around him. That’s the move here in this 2022 NFL Mock Draft.

Philly should have most of their key offensive pieces return in 2022, meaning the focus this offseason can be on the defensive side of the field. Secondary might not seem like a big need for the Eagles with Darius Slay and Avonte Maddox, but Philadelphia could lose both safeties. Plus, this is the thinnest position at this point in the draft when it comes to their needs.

Andrew Booth Jr. is a prospect who could kind of sneak through the draft process. He never had more than three interceptions or five passes defended in a season. He never registered 40 tackles during a single season. He just steadily, and consistently, improved.

This pick for Philadelphia is similar to Gardner going to Baltimore. Booth would have the opportunity to learn from Slay and Maddox while being a versatile defensive back in this secondary in the meantime, with the ability to play anywhere.
