Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Liberty. 11. 58. QB. Malik Willis. player

And the first quarterback is off the board in this 2022 NFL Mock Draft! It seems odd for the first quarterback to wait this long, but it has happened. Just not recently. The 2022 NFL Draft class doesn’t have a sure fire quarterback that would warrant a trade up into the top 10 and the teams in the first 10 picks aren’t in dire need of a quarterback just yet.

As for Malik Willis, he might not even be the best quarterback in this class. However, he’s the best fit for the Washington Commanders. He has the ability to throw from the pocket with a compliment of mobility to get out of situations and make plays with his legs.

For the Washington Commanders, Willis gives them a chance to usher in a new era for the franchise. Taylor Heinicke has done well, but he isn’t a long-term solution. Willis has the opportunity to advance this offense in time.

Willis has some things to clean up, specifically 12 interceptions this past season in 13 games, but every quarterback in this class is going to have something to clean up. Willis offers Washington a lot of upside and a quarterback who fits the offensive system with versatility and speed to offer.
