Scouting Report. 10. player. 30. Pick Analysis. EDGE. Michigan. David Ojabo

Four of the first 10 picks in the 2022 NFL Draft will be made by teams that call New York, or rather New Jersey, home. Both used their first picks on the offensive line. Now, both move to the other side of the ball and invest in the defensive line with their second pick of the first round in this 2022 NFL Mock Draft.

The New York Jets ranked 26th in team sacks during the 2021 season and Head Coach Robert Saleh will be looking to change that. In San Francisco as the defensive coordinator he had a powerful pass rush and he’ll want to begin the upgrade process.

David Ojabo has the talent to go higher in this draft, but like Jermaine Johnson there just isn’t a big enough sample size on Ojabo to be confident in taking him higher than this. He played just 14 games at Michigan and while he was impressive with 12 tackles for loss and 11 sacks in 2021 the question is consistency.

On top of that, Ojabo had the advantage of being teamed up with Aidan Hutchinson. When defenses can focus more attention on him, how will he perform? These are the questions scouts will be asking. Hopefully, Ojabo can test well at the Combine and his Pro Day to justify this high of a selection.
