I’m a firm believer at the moment that Aaron Rodgers will be the quarterback of the Denver Broncos to start the 2022 season. If that’s the case, this pick has to be included in the deal, among many others.
If Rodgers is gone, Green Bay could enter a full rebuild. They don’t have a ton of players who will see their deals expire, but there’s plenty that could be cut without much dead cap if they want to just wipe the slate clean. One spot that will need even more attention than in the past is wide receiver.
Green Bay has been docked year after year for not supplying Aaron Rodgers with enough weapons. Now, the team’s top two options out wide in Davante Adams and Marquez Valdes-Scantling could both leave in free agency.
That would leave Allen Lazard, Randall Cobb, Amari Rodgers and Juwann Winfree as the wide receivers in Green Bay. Perhaps, maybe just maybe, the Packers finally draft a first round wide receiver. They do in this 2022 NFL Mock Draft.
At 6-foot-3 225, Treylon Burks would provide a big target for Jordan Love to look for on every play. Over the last two seasons, Burks hauled in 18 touchdowns for Arkansas and totaled over 1,900 yards. A consistent, big target could be perfect for Love and the Packers.
