2022 NFL Draft: Offensive line dominates top five in 2022 NFL Mock Draft

The 2022 NFL Draft process is in full swing for 30 of the NFL’s 32 clubs. The Los Angeles Rams and Cincinnati Bengals are set to square of in the Super Bowl, but the rest of the league is shifting their attention to the 2022 season and getting the roster ready for a run to still be playing next year at this time.

With the season almost complete, nearly the entire first round order is set for the 2022 NFL Draft, with the exception of the final two selections. The Jacksonville Jaguars will kick off the draft for the second straight year while the Philadelphia Eagles will enter the night with the most first round selections, holding three.

The bad news for teams entering the draft is the lack of top tier quarterback talent. There isn’t a Trevor Lawrence or a Joe Burrow in this class. There isn’t a handful of candidates that could receive top consideration. There’s a chance a quarterback doesn’t even go in the first 10 picks of the draft. That will throw a unique wrench into the draft that hasn’t been a factor for a few years now.

The good news is that this class has multiple deep positions that are always premiums at the NFL level. Offensive line, edge rushers and wide receivers are plentiful in this class, which should allow teams to add pieces and continue to build their teams either around their current quarterback or in preparation for the next one.

The lack of quarterbacks in this class could also result in fewer trades on draft night, which seemingly revolve around the QB position. What could happen is more teams trading up towards the end of the first round for fringe quarterbacks to gain the fifth year option for such an important, and expensive, position on the field.
