Connecticut DL Travis Jones has made the most of Senior Bowl week, and should see a boost with his 2022 NFL Draft stock.

It’s been a fascinating week in the trenches down in Mobile, and there have been great battles on both teams. Plenty of defensive linemen are making money down at the Senior Bowl this week and seeing their stock for the 2022 NFL Draft rise. One of those linemen is Connecticut standout Travis Jones, who has been balling for the National team.

Jones might not have gotten a lot of buzz at Connecticut in 2021, mostly due to the team having a rough year overall. But, some analysts took notice when the Clemson offensive line were getting beat frequently on the interior.  That standout performance got the attention of the scouts running things in Mobile, and it turned into an invite.

With the practices finished and the game set to kickoff tomorrow, there haven’t been many players who have helped their stock as much as Travis Jones. Jones has played with impressive leverage and power to push offensive linemen back in 1v1s, and has shown the ability to win quickly with good hand usage and a violent strike. Seeing him beat Zion Johnson, one of the better players down in Mobile, with a quick club and arm over move was as impressive a rep as any.

There’s still the game for Jones, but he’s done enough to firmly cement his stock as a day two player. There are many teams that could use a very good nose tackle/one technique player with the ability to shore up the run defense. It wouldn’t be surprising at all to hear his name called in the top 50 picks, especially with teams like the Los Angeles Chargers, Atlanta Falcons, Las Vegas Raiders, and others in that area who could be looking to upgrade along the interior in the 2022 NFL Draft.
