Round 4, 131st Overall: Cam Taylor-Britt, CB, Nebraska

It’s very clear that while defensive back is a need for the Kansas City Chiefs, the current front office doesn’t really value the position early in the draft. It probably continues in the 2022 version, but luckily, the corner class is extremely talented and, on top of it, deep. With Charvarius Ward and Mike Hughes free agents, an already thin corner room needs more help.

Cam Taylor-Britt is a very intriguing name at corner. He plays with the mentality teams like to see in terms of his motor, willingness to take on blocks, and stick his nose to make plays against the run. He’s a reliable tackler who also stays physical in coverage.

Round 6, 190th Overall: Qwynnterrio Cole, S, Louisville

Both Daniel Sorensen and Armani Watts are set to be free agents for the Chiefs in the offseason, so more help to the back end is necessary in this Chiefs mock draft. Hopefully Tyrann Mathieu returns, but even then, get more help at safety.

Qwynnterrio Cole is an intriguing name in the safety class. The former Alcorn State defensive back transferred to Louisville for the 2021 season, and he showed that he’s a physical presence on the field. He flies downhill to hit with power and has impressive range and closing speed working downhill and from side to side.
