Round 2, 55th Overall: Arnold Ebiketie, EDGE, Penn State

The aforementioned need at edge rusher is up next here in this Cardinals mock draft. The Arizona Cardinals brought back Markus Golden to help in their rotation, but heading into 2022 to lean on him to carry the load on the edge isn’t the move.

Arnold Ebiketie is a fun study at edge rusher. He transferred from Temple to Penn State this past offseason, and it paid off. A season of 9.5 sacks and 18 tackles for loss was huge for him, and he has the athleticism, lateral quickness, length, and plays with good leverage. His hand placement is very good and he’s quick to shed blockers to make plays in the backfield.

Round 3, 87th Overall: Lecitus Smith, OL, Virginia Tech

The offensive line isn’t a position to take lightly, especially with the potential turnover at the position discussed earlier. There’s plenty of day two value on the interior, and the Cardinals address that here with the selection of Lecitus Smith.

Smith got some hype late in the summer and was a great player on the Hokies line in 2021. He was rock solid in pass protection, and had a phenomenal anchor, making it tough for defensive lineman to get him off his spot or off-balance. Smith could potentially win one of the guard spots and enter 2022 as a starter.
