2022 NFL Mock Draft: Latest Projections After Divisional Weekend
29. Cincinnati Bengals: Trent McDuffie, CB, Washington
The Cincinnati Bengals are continuing to surprise us all, and there’s on the doorstep of a Super Bowl berth. Only a couple areas can be their undoing, and one of those is at the corner position. In this 2022 NFL Mock Draft, they land a potential elite corner in Trent McDuffie. He thrives in man and zone coverage, and tackles especially well.
30. Miami Dolphins (via SF): Zion Johnson, OL, Boston College
If it’s a continuous issue, keep attacking it. That’s what the Miami Dolphins should do at the end of the first round in this 2022 NFL Mock Draft. If they’re rolling with Tua Tagovailoa, getting more line help is paramount. Zion Johnson is a fantastic guard who can keep the pocket clean, showing off impressive hand placement, a strong anchor, and great power in the run game.
31. Detroit Lions (via LAR): Sam Howell, QB, North Carolina
The Detroit Lions coaching down at the Senior Bowl could result in them falling for one of the quarterbacks in the 2022 NFL Draft. Sam Howell is still the wild card of the class, showing off great velocity, an excellent deep ball, and toughness as a runner.
32. Kansas City Chiefs: Jermaine Johnson II, EDGE, Florida State
The Kansas City Chiefs somehow continue to be the gold standard in the NFL right now, and are set to host their fourth straight AFC Championship game. Corner will continue to be a need regardless of how the season ends for them. However, their lack of valuing the position makes edge more likely. Jermaine Johnson II is a great run defender who is continuing to unlock more as a pass rusher.
