2022 NFL Mock Draft: Latest Projections After Divisional Weekend
1. Jacksonville Jaguars: Kayvon Thibodeaux, EDGE, Oregon
There’s been plenty of discussion as to how the Jacksonville Jaguars should address the top pick in the 2022 NFL Draft. Will it be to take an edge rusher to pair with Josh Allen, or will it be to help out Trevor Lawrence for year two? In this 2022 NFL Mock Draft, it’s back to resource devotion to the defensive line. Kayvon Thibodeaux is already a polished run defender with a limitless ceiling as a pass rusher.
2. Detroit Lions: Aidan Hutchinson, EDGE, Michigan
The Detroit Lions got some impressive production from Charles Harris to help out the front seven in 2021, but finding a cornerstone for a decade will help the Lions rebuild out a ton. Aidan Hutchinson is a great fit for the Lions. He has the athleticism, production, and motor for the Motor City, and can terrorize the NFC North for years to come.
3. Houston Texans: Ikem Ekwonu, OL, North Carolina State
It’s anyone’s guess where the rebuild goes for the Houston Texans. What would work best is surrounding Davis Mills with plenty of talent to see if he can take the next step. The offensive line is a good place to start. Ikem Ekwonu is a mauler as a run blocker who’s improved each season in pass protection.
4. New York Jets: Evan Neal, OT, Alabama
The New York Jets have two picks in the top 10, but are reportedly looking to move down from the 10th slot. In this 2022 NFL Mock Draft they’re staying pat, but they get some great value to start things off. Evan Neal would be a phenomenal pairing with Mekhi Becton to help protect Zach Wilson. His balance has gotten better, and his footwork and physicality are excellent.
