Round 2, 51st Overall: Wan’Dale Robinson, WR, Kentucky

The Philadelphia Eagles were able to snag 2020 Heisman Winner Devonta Smith tenth overall in last years draft following a trade with their bitter rivals, the Dallas Cowboys. That proved to be a great decision as Smith has shown potential to be a number one wide receiver in the league.

Unfortunately for Philly, they did not reap the same rewards when they selected Jalen Reagor in the first round a year prior. Down the stretch, it seemed like Reagor had a mishap every time he showed up on our screens. Quez Watkins has given reason for optimism but still projects to be a depth piece rather than a full-time starter.

Jalen Hurts is still improving on his timing and anticipation, so linking him up with a home run hitter like Wan’Dale Robinson makes all the sense in the world.

Robinson is at his best when he gets the ball in open space, as is put on display in his electric tape. It is chock-full of athletic plays that will make your jaw hit the floor. He’s nearly impossible to tackle one-on-one and will be able to make big plays from screens and quick hitters. Robinson is a threat to take any play to the house and he will add a much needed element to the offense.

Round 3, 83rd Overall: Darrian Beavers, LB, Cincinnati

Earlier in the mock I stressed how badly the linebacker corps needed overhauled and I am going to echo that again at pick 83. Darrian Beavers is another versatile linebacker with potential to play multiple positions on defense.

His film shows that he specializes in stopping the run but he was originally recruited as a safety and that shows in coverage. Beavers draws many comparisons to Zaven Collins because of his rare athleticism at 6’4, 255 pounds.

While not being quite the athlete Collins is, Beavers oozes potential and an upside that far exceeds any current Eagles linebackers. This position group will go from one of the weakest on the roster, to one of the strongest.

Round 4, 120th Overall: Jeremy Ruckert, TE, Ohio State

Perhaps my favorite fit of this mock is Ohio State’s Jeremy Ruckert locking in the TE2 role in Philly.

Nearly a month after trading franchise icon Zach Ertz, the Philadelphia Eagles signed tight end Dallas Goedert to a lucrative extension that ties him to the team for the foreseeable future.

While locking up Goedert is great, there’s still an opening that needs filled. Jack Stoll and Tyree Jackson were serviceable but Ruckert can take the two tight end sets to another level.

Ruckert didn’t get many opportunities through the air in Columbus, but was able to showcase his elite blocking on a regular basis. Standing at 6’5, 252 pounds gives reason to believe he can make steady contributions in the red zone, as well. Ruckert’s best days of football are still in front of him.
