After a disappointing end to the 2021 NFL season, Indianapolis Colts fans can now turn their attention to the offseason and this year’s draft.

With crushing 26-11 loss to the Jaguars on Sunday the Indianapolis Colts season shockingly ended as they missed the playoffs.

It was a roller coaster of a season for the Indianapolis Colts who finished with a record of 9-8. They started the season 1-4, then went on an 8-2 stretch where they looked like a potential dark horse super bowl contender, before losing back-to-back games to the Raiders and Jaguars.

A big takeaway from this season is that while Carson Wentz is a talented quarterback and isn’t necessarily bad, he isn’t someone who can relied on week in and week out. Obviously, the Indianapolis Colts would love to upgrade at quarterback, but the question is whether that is realistic or not?

It’s possible some star quarterbacks will be available on the trade market, which the Colts can pursue. However, the odds of landing one of them is pretty low and if they don’t they’re not in much of a position to draft a replacement with no first round pick this year.

This kind of puts the Indianapolis Colts in a weird position because while they probably aren’t happy with Wentz they may not have a realistic better option, so they may be stuck with him for another year. Given that, in this mock draft I try to fill out the roster as best as possible with the picks that they have. They don’t have a first round pick due to the Carson Wentz trade last offseason, so this mock draft starts with their second round pick.
