Round 6, 195th Overall: Troy Andersen, LB, Montana State

The Los Angeles Chargers challenges against the run stem further than the group up front. It is an issue at the linebacker position as well. Former first round pick Kenneth Murray has struggled to process things quickly in front of him and finds himself out of position at times. The room looks thin for 2022, so expect some additions.

One of those additions who could provide help is Montana State standout Troy Andersen. Andersen is a good mover at the position, but more importantly, he has good instincts and processing things quickly, whether it be getting into alleys quickly on outside runs or filling well against inside runs. He’s also a great tackler in space and could be a strong starter quickly.

Round 6, 214th Overall: Neil Farrell Jr., DL, LSU

Why stop the reload on the defensive line with Jones in the second round? More big bodies up front are needed, no matter who comes back in free agency (especially with all the compensatory picks the Los Angeles Chargers could get).

Neil Farrell Jr. doesn’t have much buzz right now, likely because he played on a struggling LSU team. However, Farrell does do well against the run, stacking and shedding blockers with good consistency. He could be counted on in a rotation in year one.
