5. New York Giants: Charles Cross, OT, Mississippi State

Like their counterparts in East Rutherford, the New York Giants need serious help on the offensive line. They have major questions regarding whether or not Joe Judge stays and if that affects the plan with Daniel Jones to run the show next season. However, getting the line right before the QB makes sense if that’s the direction.

Andrew Thomas has played well, and the addition of Charles Cross will help. Cross has incredible footwork and foot quickness, plays with great balance, and handles power much better than he did a year ago. That’s a good start and could go a long way to rebuilding the unit up front.

6. Carolina Panthers: Kenny Pickett, QB, Pittsburgh

With three tackles off the board, that throws in a wrinkle for the Panthers in this 2022 NFL Mock Draft. It could become a trade down spot, with others looking to move up for a quarterback, but in this scenario, the Panthers stay in place and get the quarterback of the future.

Kenny Pickett enjoyed a strong rise in 2021 that was warranted. His late breakout included added poise in the pocket, improved accuracy down the field and outside the numbers, and more plays created out of structure. He enters Carolina with a solid unit of receivers.
